Familiarity with bats and the game "Wild Crocodile": we invite children to an event for World Wildlife Day.
On Friday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m., an educational and interactive event will be held in the aquarium hall of the House of Nature for children aged 7 to 11 years. A rich program was developed together with our partners:
Nataliya Gudkova - a specialist of the Institute of Postgraduate Education under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, prepared an interesting game based on a children's book.
Zhenya Rudenko and Valentina Kardonova - employees of the Kyiv Zoological Park of State Importance, will introduce children to real bats.
Serhii Khara, Olga Lavryk, Elizaveta Matveeva - specialists of Holosiivskiy National Nature Park, will play an educational game with children.
Olya Lytvynenko - an employee of the Kyiv City Nature House, will conduct a themed exercise for children and play the well-known game "Wild Crocodile".
Together with the event, you can visit the exhibition of paintings in the second hall of the House of Nature, where the children combined their love for zoology, Petrykiv painting and the Ukrainian alphabet - Ruthenia in their works.
The free event is dedicated to the environmental date of the year.
On December 20, 2013, at its 68th session, the UN General Assembly proclaimed March 3 as World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world's wildlife.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and modern devices for acoustic monitoring enables real-time capturing sounds of wild animal species, and their validation. The collected data will enable insights about biodiversity richness, composition and distribution, and behaviour of wild fauna species. Various activities will be organized in the form of raising the public awareness and dissemination of the project results and achievements. Environmental education in Colombia has been developed as a concept alien to the country's high biodiversity. Students are educated about an “environment” that they cannot recognize as their own, which has a negative impact on how they understand their surroundings and relate to the territory. Through this project we seek to implement in the municipality of Támesis (Antioquia), the first workshop of an innovative and replicable environmental education workshops series, which promotes the social appropriation of the territory and trains students in issues related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming event "Living with Snakes: A Comprehensive Training Program for Safe and Human Co-existence” featuring World Wildlife day on 3 March 2023 for awareness of the campus ecosystem and featuring SGD3, 4, 15 and 17 to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.

As we all know, AIT campus is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including a wide variety of wildlife and especially snakes. While these reptiles are an important part of the ecosystem, encounters with them can be challenging and sometimes even dangerous, especially if we lack knowledge about their behavior and types. The objective of this training is to provide education on snakes that can help reduce the risk of human-snake conflicts and minimize the likelihood of snake bites.

To ensure a safe and humane co-existence with snakes, we are organizing a comprehensive training program that will provide participants with in-depth knowledge about snake behavior, types and identification, response to snake encounters, and first aid for snake bites. The program will be conducted by expert trainers from the Arsorapit Wittaya Project (North-East), Nick Wildlife Team, and Trekking Thailand Tour, who are highly experienced in safe rescuing and safe handling of snakes and will provide demonstrations, and live examples and teach basics of safe handling using proper equipment under their guidance and control to ensure that participants have a thorough understanding of the subject.

Our top priority is the safety of all participants, and we will have strict safety protocols, guidance, monitoring, and control in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

World Wildlife Day Commemorative Project “You can become an wildlife ranger! Protect animals from being smuggling and poached from the wild!”
March 3rd of each year is "World Wildlife Day". This day was established by the United Nations on March 3, 1973, when CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora to regulate international trade, in order to protect endangered wild animals and plants.

In connection with this, various conservation organizations and the zoo staff wanted to raise awareness about the wild animals that have been raised and exhibited at Ueno Zoo, especially those whose wild populations are declining due to the increased smuggling and poaching. Aimed at elementary school students and above so that children who are unfamiliar with the terms 'smuggling and poaching' can learn more about these issues.
