World Wildlife Day Commemorative Project “You can become an wildlife ranger! Protect animals from being smuggling and poached from the wild!”
March 3rd of each year is "World Wildlife Day". This day was established by the United Nations on March 3, 1973, when CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora to regulate international trade, in order to protect endangered wild animals and plants.

In connection with this, various conservation organizations and the zoo staff wanted to raise awareness about the wild animals that have been raised and exhibited at Ueno Zoo, especially those whose wild populations are declining due to the increased smuggling and poaching. Aimed at elementary school students and above so that children who are unfamiliar with the terms 'smuggling and poaching' can learn more about these issues.
