Jackson Wild Announces Official Selections for 2025 World Wildlife Day Film Showcase
JACKSON, Wyo. / WASHINGTON, DC. – Jackson Wild has announced the official film selections for the 2025 World Wildlife Day Film Showcase in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
In alignment with this year’s theme, “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet,” the showcase highlights eight films, from stories of innovative investments in conservation, to spotlights of community efforts working to make a shared and sustainable future possible.
"The films in this year’s showcase highlight the critical role that innovative finance plays in conservation," said Christie Quinn, Interim Executive Director of Jackson Wild. "Film has the unique ability to bring complex topics—like conservation finance—to life, making them more accessible and compelling. These stories shed light on creative solutions that are making a real difference, demonstrating how investment in nature can drive meaningful change for both people and wildlife."
Ivonne Higuero, Secretary-General of CITES, emphasized the importance of storytelling in conservation, stating, “Storytelling is a powerful catalyst for conservation, inspiring action and investment in the conservation of wildlife. Once again, the Jackson Wild Film Showcase has brought critical narratives of local solutions to global audiences. Congratulations to the selected filmmakers for their contributions to ensuring that wild species can continue to thrive in their natural habitats."
2025 marks the ninth World Wildlife Day Showcase competition jointly organized as part of the annual World Wildlife Day celebrations by Jackson Wild, the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to inspire personal responsibility and stewardship
for endangered creatures across the world.
