As we approach World Wildlife Day on 3rd March 2026, learn about Canada’s first bilingual, interdisciplinary, open-access textbook dedicated to the evolving management and planning of protected and conserved areas. This new and innovative textbook is the result of a collaborative effort between Wilfrid Laurier University and the John McMurry Research Chair in Environmental Geography, IISAAK OLAM Foundation, the Collective for Parks, Conservation, Innovation and Leadership (CPCIL) and Parks Canada. Explore the textbook and gain a more complete picture of the challenges and opportunities in area-based conservation.

This World Wildlife Day, we celebrate the inspiring journeys of our rescued residents: Cosmo and Sun, two lively lemurs; Boomer and Pumpkin, the African lions; and the trio of tortoises. Once victims of illegal wildlife trafficking, they now live in a permanent home under our care. Join us to honour their resilience and learn how you can support wildlife conservation.
