Thailand Strengthens Global Conservation Role for World Wildlife Day 2026 !!
Thailand continues to advance its leadership in natural resource conservation on the global stage by celebrating
World Wildlife Day (March 3rd). This year, the festivities are held under the theme: “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage, and Livelihoods” In 2026, the spotlight is on the vital role of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) in public health, traditional Thai medicine, culinary culture, and daily life. This initiative emphasizes the protection of biodiversity against the risks of overexploitation and illegal trade, ensuring that nature's capacity is not compromised.
Showcasing Thai Potential and Integrated Cooperation The 2026 celebration aims to showcase the immense potential and multifaceted value of Thai medicinal plants to the international community. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) invites the public to visit botanical gardens under its care to witness these natural treasures. This movement reflects a highly integrated collaboration among government agencies across several key areas:
• Conservation Management: Strengthening the protection of natural habitats.
• Knowledge & Innovation: Promoting herbal wisdom and advancing bio-innovation research.
• International Regulation: Overseeing trade under the CITES framework to ensure that the use of these resources is legal, transparent, and sustainable.
Experience World Wildlife Day Online To spread awareness, Thailand has produced a commemorative video highlighting the significance of this day. The public is invited to watch and engage with the content starting March 3, 2026, through various online channels:

"Herbs: Connecting the Threads of Health and Life." Conserving medicinal plants means caring for our forests, our communities, and ourselves. Let us work together to build upon and pass down the legacy of Thai herbs for future generations.
