We are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming event "Living with Snakes: A Comprehensive Training Program for Safe and Human Co-existence” featuring World Wildlife day on 3 March 2023 for awareness of the campus ecosystem and featuring SGD3, 4, 15 and 17 to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.
As we all know, AIT campus is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including a wide variety of wildlife and especially snakes. While these reptiles are an important part of the ecosystem, encounters with them can be challenging and sometimes even dangerous, especially if we lack knowledge about their behavior and types. The objective of this training is to provide education on snakes that can help reduce the risk of human-snake conflicts and minimize the likelihood of snake bites.
To ensure a safe and humane co-existence with snakes, we are organizing a comprehensive training program that will provide participants with in-depth knowledge about snake behavior, types and identification, response to snake encounters, and first aid for snake bites. The program will be conducted by expert trainers from the Arsorapit Wittaya Project (North-East), Nick Wildlife Team, and Trekking Thailand Tour, who are highly experienced in safe rescuing and safe handling of snakes and will provide demonstrations, and live examples and teach basics of safe handling using proper equipment under their guidance and control to ensure that participants have a thorough understanding of the subject.
Our top priority is the safety of all participants, and we will have strict safety protocols, guidance, monitoring, and control in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
